Traditional Celtic Sun Cross or also known as a High Cross in Ireland appeared between the 7th to 9th century in Britannia. According to Celtic lore, the outer circle representing the Sun, was added to the Roman Christian Cross to give the newly converted pagan followers the idea that the cross and the Sun’s life-giving properties where one and the same.
